Christianity is a personal religion, but it’s not private. Jesus calls us into membership within the local church. Within the context of church membership, Christians commit to affirming one another’s profession of faith, holding one another accountable to right doctrine and living, and they encourage one another towards Christ.
At Lake Wylie Baptist, we carry-out membership through a
Membership Matters – A recurring class that introduces church membership to attenders and prospective members. In this class, we cover:
- Statement of Faith and Theological Commitments
- Covenant and Constitution
- What is a Healthy Church?
- What is a Healthy Church Member?
- Our Worship and Ministries
Membership Matters is currently offered Sunday mornings during our 9AM Equipping Hour.
Having completed Membership Matters, an elder will schedule a 45 minute interview with prospective members. In this interview an elder will ask basic biographical and church history questions so that we can get to know you. We’ll also ask about your conversion story. Prospective members will also sign the church Covenant and membership application.
On a Sunday morning, an elder will present those who are submitting themselves for membership, briefly tell how their conversion story, and call for a vote of the present membership for admission to membership.
If you are interested in membership at Lake Wylie Baptist talk to Pastor Jonathan on a Sunday morning.
Equipping Hour (Sundays at 9am)
Equipping Hour classes are our primary small group communities. These classes meet on Sunday morning at the 9am hour. These classes meet to study God’s Word, pray, and accomplish mission projects. We also have small groups which meet off campus.
We are in the process of starting home groups in the community. If you are interested in joining a home group, talk to Pastor Jonathan on a Sunday morning.
