Tadpoles

Newborn through 18 months

You are never too young to learn about who God is.  While rocking, changing diapers, feeding, and loving on the babies, we sing classic children songs about God to them, tell them a shorten version of the weekly Bible story, and read books about God's love.

Frogs

18 months until 3 years old

Our younger toddlers learn about prayer and how to pray before we eat our snack.  We introduce the Bible in this class as a special book.  Each week the toddlers hold Bibles and we talk about how this book is different than all the other books and that it is God's Word.  They learn a shorten version of that week's Bible Story through volunteers reading it from the Bible, pointing out key items in the weekly Bible story graphic and coloring sheet, and doing one craft that goes along with the Bible story.

lambs

3 years old and 4 years old

Our older toddlers continue to build on they learned in the Frog's classroom about prayer and the Bible.  We extend the weekly Bible Story with the same resources, the Bible story graphic, coloring sheet, felt board and crafts.  Bible story games and memory verses are introduced in this classroom.  Through music and repetition, we encourage them to memorize one verse a month.

pre-k and kindergarten

We continue to build on what they have been learning through the previous classes.  They start sharing their prayer requests and praying for not only their requests but others as well.  The Bible is now taught as having parts, the Old and New Testament, as well as the Books of the Bible.  The weekly Bible Story gets longer and taught with more details through similar resources as the previous rooms.  The memory verse is a big part of the room with different strategies of how to memorize them.

rams

1st and 2nd grade

Prayer and memory verses continue to be a strong part of Sunday mornings.  They really start handling the Bible at this stage.  They are now learning to look up verse with the "Big and Little" numbers.  We keep building their confidence in knowing the Books of the Bible.  The weekly Bible Story gets longer and taught with more details through new resources, such as demonstrations and more detailed activities.  Here is where they start talking about the Bible Stories with some question and answers.

lions

3rd through 5th grade

The last room of the Kid's wing before going into the youth program.  This is where a more traditional Bible Study comes into play.  The kids really start thinking and talking about the background of the weekly stories.  They are agreeing or disagreeing with what are they are reading and then looking for the evidence that it is true.  Demonstrations play a large role, as well as working as team in various games to help in seeing that the Bible is real truth.
